Voyager Craft Coffee expanding to downtown San Jose – The Mercury News

The San Pedro Square Market in downtown San Jose has been without a dedicated coffee purveyor for about a month, since B2 closed its operations there.

But the brew experts at Voyager Craft Coffee are coming to the rescue.

The Santa Clara coffee house is expanding for the first time and will open here Friday, June 21, after renovating the space.

As our colleague Jessica Yadegaran wrote about Voyager in 2017, walking into that coffee house is like “taking a caffeinated journey around the world.”

Indeed, owners Lauren Burns and Sam Shah were inspired by their travels, and the menu shows it. Besides pour-overs made with farm-sourced coffee beans, they specialize in destination-themed drinks such as the orange-scented Valencia, the spicy coconut cayenne Bali and the jasmine tea/espresso hybrid called the Shanghai.

The baristas are also known for their colorful rainbow latte art, and those “splashes of color” will be available by request at the San Jose location, Shah said.

The couple has recently opened a bean-roasting facility in Palo Alto to oversee the whole process, and they are remodeling the Stevens Creek Boulevard coffee house.

The San Pedro Square location will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., “with an eye toward staying open later in the evening,” Shah said.
