“We have poke bowls, we have wraps, we have salads, acai bowls, we have paninis, smoothies, fresh juices,” said owner Alanna Aylward, adding it can be hard to make health choices on the go.

“We want people in the community to be able to leave work for their break, or come before their work in the morning, and be able to get healthy food quickly,” Aylward said.

Customers say the new cafe is a good way to make healthy choices, or just try something new.

“It really adds to the culinary options you have. There’s a certain tradition, regional tradition to the way foods are prepared, and every now and again you kinda wanna get away from that,” said customer Richard Przybyszewsk.

Vine is located on the corner of McCarthy and M.L.K. Jr. Boulevard in New Bern, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
