If you’re feeling lonely this Valentine’s Day, Kaffee the dog wants to help.
The six-year-old chocolate lab will have a kissing booth at the Baden Coffee Company in Baden on Thursday, in attempt to raise money for the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society.
There are two times to smooch Kaffee, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Barbara Collins, one of the owners of the Baden Coffee Company, told CBC K-W Kaffee plays a big part at the Baden coffee shop.
“She’s been part of the business since she’s been born,” Collins said, who owns Kaffee. Many customers often come in just to see her, she said.
Collins adds the kissing booth is a good fit for Kaffee as she loves people, especially those who bring her treats.
Kaffe, which is German for coffee, also loves fruits and vegetables and hanging around at the coffee shop from time to time.

Kaffee’s kissing booth began three years ago as part of the KW Humane Society’s national cupcake day fundraiser.
This year, all the money collected will go toward maintaining the humane society’s animal care hospital, said Marjorie Brown, director of development for the KW Humane Society.
She said in 2018, Kaffee’s kissing booth raised $400 dollars, almost double what they raised in 2017.
“It’s a great idea in terms of working with a partnership between an owned pet and adoptable pets,” Brown said.
Collins said many of their customers look forward to Valentines Day because they know they’ll have a chance to kiss and snuggle Kaffee, who is also a support dog.
“She seems to know this is her special day,” Collins said.
‘This is so cute’
The idea delighted social media on Thursday.
“A kissing booth I’d totally wait in line for,” Twitter user @ItsOnlyBeth said to the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society.
The event also generated a lot of attention on the group’s Facebook page.
“Looks like we have to take a work field trip to get kisses from this beauty,” Tory-Lynn Hazel Mantle wrote.
“This is so cute,” Pamela Dedman wrote.
Donations from the event will support the National Cupcake Day fundraiser for the humane society. The humane society says they’ve run the kissing booth for six years.
Kaffee is not up for adoption, she’s in her forever home with the owner of Baden Coffee Company. However, other animals at the humane society are looking for homes. You can view their adoptables here.
